Together in January
January is often a cold and dark month, but it doesn't have to be a lonely or sad one. Together in January is all about making things a little brighter by coming together as a community
Remember that you are not alone. Get involved, look after yourself and allow yourself to ask for help if you need it. We're all in this together.
What is happening?
With the holidays behind us and the days still cold and short, January can feel like a difficult time. We might miss our family more than usual or feel stressed about the start of a new year. We might have worries about finances or feel the pressure to make big New Year's resolutions.
This is where CALMtown comes in with Together in January, an initiative that is all about encouraging the whole community of St Ives to connect, look after ourselves and others, and seek support if we need it.
How do I join in?
Connect with those around you
1. Check in with neighbours, family and friends
2. Stop and say hi when you run into each other
3. Start or join a local group on WhatsApp or Facebook
Try the five ways to wellbeing
Every day in January, try to take at least one action that's part of these five steps: Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Learn and Give. You can find out more, including lots of local suggestions, on our Five Ways to Wellbeing webpages.
We'd love to hear from you if you're getting involved! Drop us a message on Facebook via @CALMtown, email stivescalmtown@gmail.com, or contact us via our Contact Us page.
